Description |
Wood Mask, believed to be from Liberia. Light in color. Oval face with markings above and below wthe eyes, on cheeks,on forehead and near ear. Eyes have heavy lids with cut-outs. A broad nose. The mouth is carved to show a single row of teeth. On the head of the mask is pointed hat-like, with horns. On the under-side, top, is picture frame ring-type hardware for hanging. Gift from the donor's cousin whose husband served in the Peace Corps. |
