Description |
Maraka/Senufo Iron Mask. Round form, metal face. Narrow slits for eyes. Nose and mouth are marked by strips of leather that extend to top of head and wrap slightly behind mask. Cowry shells border the face, attached with leather-like string. Made for initiation of a boy becoming a blacksmith. |
