Invitation from the Postmaster General for a ceremony dedicating the Benjamin Banneker Commemorative Stamp. Printed on heavy cardstock. At top center of invitation, gold USPS emblem at to center. Reads "UNITED STATES POSTAL SERVICE" at top with gold stars below. In center, eagle in flight with "U.S. MAIL" below. At top right, new Benjamin Banneker stamp. Banneker is wearing a purple jacket with a white shirt. In the foreground is a smaller version of Banneker wearing a green suit standing next to a surveyor. At bottom, in white text, "Black Heritage USA 15c". Below, in black text, "The Postmaster General | invites you to a ceremony dedicating the Benjamin Banneker Commemorative Stamp | Asbury United Methodist Church | 87 West Street | Annapolis, Maryland | 11:00 a.m., Friday, February 15, 1980". Envelope has a return address in blue that reads "THE POSTMASTER GENERAL | Washington, DC 20260 | OFFICIAL BUSINESS".
