Description |
May Ophthalmoscope Attachment. Front is oval with small hole at top for looking into the eye. Has concave mirror for viewing retina. Has a "+" and "-" on lower portion and a window for viewing the number setting. Dial set directly behind front panel turns. Has set of numbers in black from 0, .5, 1, 1.5, 2 - 20 when turned clockwise. Has set of numbers in red from 1-6, 8, 10, 15, and 20 when turned counterclockwise. Number selected changes the mirror used for examining eye. Sits on a stem that attaches to larger handle. Has several small dials on reverse. On front, engraved "Pat. No. 2027563." On backside, engraved "Pat's Pending | WACO Auburn, NY." Also called funduscopy or fundoscopy and is used in a test that allows a health professional to see inside the fundus of the eye and other structures using an ophthalmoscope (or funduscope). It is done as part of an eye examination and may be done as part of a routine physical examination. It is crucial in determining the health of the retina and the vitreous humor. |
